Mike has over 28 years’ of working professionally with clients and helping them navigate through the complexities of the financial and investment world. After picking up a copy of the Wall Street Journal as a junior in high school, Mike developed a passion for all things financial. He graduated with a Finance degree from Auburn University in 1981 and began a 12-year career in corporate finance with IBM. Realizing a lack of satisfaction and purpose in his work, Mike left IBM in 1993 and joined the investment firm Interstate/Johnson Lane to pursue his interest in financial planning and investment management. In 2002 Mike went to work with Riverside Bank to establish and manage a Raymond James Investment Center. Following four successful years in the bank and its merger with a larger bank, Mike established Terry Investment Group as an independent office aligned with Raymond James Financial Services.
Mike and his wife of 37 years, Rhonda, live in East Cobb and have two adult sons, Zack and Clay. Golf, skiing, hunting, and Auburn University sports are some of Mike’s interests beyond the office. Mike has served with and continues to support several community organizations including Young Life, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Youth for Christ, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, Must Ministries, and Cobb Chamber of Commerce.
